Why tallow? What is actually inside

Chemically, beef tallow is a mixture of fatty acids. Three of its major components are oleic, stearic and palmitic acid.
Oleic acid helps give tallow its softer, more spreadable feel and contributes to its emollient properties. Stearic acid is a saturated fatty acid that adds rich texture and a solid consistency. Palmitic acid is another saturated fatty acid, commonly found in skincare and naturally present in the skin’s surface lipids.Together, these fatty acids make tallow a rich emollient that can soften the skin, smooth its surface and help reduce moisture loss. So when you use tallow, you are not simply putting beef fat on your skin, you are applying a naturally occurring mixture of fatty acids.
